| About me… My passion for creating tantalizing dishes started when I was nine years old. In the kitchen, alongside my mother, I learned that a few key, wholesome ingredients held the secret to nourishing, satisfying meals. After years of preparing meals for my family and friends, I enrolled in culinary arts school. This formal training prepared me to plan, quantify, create, and execute a range of culinary sensations. My training in menu planning, preparation, sanitation, safety, analysis, and more provided a concrete foundation for organization, cost analysis, and project execution. A fire had been lit deep inside me...a slow burn that eventually morphed into a genuine love for cooking and nurturing people. A few years later, when I started to feel the entrepreneurial pull, I decided to create a business that would allow me to feed my creative spirit. After months of research and contemplation, I combined my professional culinary skills, my love for taking care of others and my love of pampering/spa treatments and on August 18, 2001, Pampering U was born (later renamed Amethyst Rising). I found myself drawn to the alternative healing methods found Eastern cultures. The simple lifestyles, the emphasis on mind-body integration and balance. I studied simple preparations used for the skin, hair and body--preparations rooted in nature using essential oils, natural herbs, botanicals, spices, etc. and set out to create an affordable line of spa quality products to be used at home. Later, I added carefully selected motivational, spiritual and lifestyle products to further enhance the self-nurturing experience. About the company… The Amethyst Rising brand encompasses concepts that touch me deeply and personally. The company’s mission, the exclusive mood enhancing blends I created, the spa collections colored-coded in accordance with principles of colour therapy…were all carefully crafted to promote a sense of total health and lifestyle wellness.
